The job
We have been working with Clearsprings Ready Homes since 2022, supplying nutritionally approved meals across multiple accommodation sites, ranging in size from 100 to over 1,200 residents. On several larger locations, we work directly with the Home Office to enhance the overall food offering and ensure the service meets the expectations and wellbeing needs of reside
Goals & Requirements
- Healthy, well-balanced menus, whilst meeting the cultural and dietary needs of the SU’s.
- Low budget catering, with the expectation of three meals a day, unlimited snacks and hot and cold drinks available.
- Fully Halal menus.
- Flexibility and the ability to take on and remove sites with little notice.
- The ability to work with other stakeholders, SU’s and the Home Office to improve and keep the offering at the expected standard.
Our Solution
Although our initial role was to act solely as the food provider, it quickly became clear that this project required a far more comprehensive level of involvement. We began working closely with the staffing provider to train on-site teams and establish the hygiene and operational standards we expect across all our venues. We collaborated with welfare teams and site management to develop menus that met both nutritional requirements and the cultural expectations of the service users. As we expanded across additional locations, we also worked directly with the Home Office, recognising that each site had its own culture, challenges, and resident needs.
Our purchasing and kitchen teams have worked tirelessly to source new products, create new dishes, and continually improve the offering to keep residents as satisfied as possible. At our largest and more remote site, we introduced themed food days and expanded menu choices to enhance the overall experience.
In summer 2025, we were given just over 48 hours’ notice to mobilise and take over a new site located two hours from our base. The team successfully completed the mobilisation, immediately improving the food standards on site. What began as a six-week project has since been extended through early 2026.
Throughout this partnership, we have adapted to the volatile and uncertain nature of the environment, responding quickly and professionally as needs evolve. Our team approaches the work without political agenda—focusing instead on the human aspect of the project, ensuring that vulnerable individuals receive consistent, respectful, and nutritious support every single day.
