Providing healthy, balanced meals to teenagers and staff from diverse nationalities and backgrounds
Aldenham School is a co-educational private boarding and day school for pupils aged 11 to 18, located between Elstree and the village of Aldenham in Hertfordshire. Their client, Churchill House Language School, offers an immersive “London Experience,” welcoming teenagers from around the world to learn English and explore the city. Each summer, for six weeks, Churchill House uses Aldenham’s onsite facilities to host its international students.

The job
We were commissioned to operate Aldenham School’s kitchens for the full six-week programme, providing three hot meals daily, with packed lunches supplied at weekends.Goals & Requirements
The client required tasty, healthy meals delivered within a strict budget. A key challenge was accommodating multiple nationalities and dietary preferences while still offering a manageable number of meal options.
Our Solution
We developed a two-week rotating menu, tailored to the fact that most students stayed for one to two weeks. This menu featured a variety of global cuisines—including Chinese, Italian, Turkish, Indian, Mexican—as well as a traditional Sunday roast and a BBQ night. Fresh salads, vegetables, fruit, and dessert were provided at every mealtime.Breakfast included a daily hot option such as eggs, bacon, pancakes, and freshly baked croissants.
We worked closely with both Churchill House and Aldenham School’s management teams each day to ensure student satisfaction, making adjustments whenever needed.
A weekly dietary-requirements list was provided, and we adapted menus accordingly to ensure every student’s needs were fully met.
